Tasting Notes: Incredibly powerful and concentrated wine with a distinctive and attractive aroma. Excellent balance between a slight acidity in the wine and a certain sweetness. Full-bodied and concentrated, yet fresh and lively. An Amarone that has all the components to age. Excellent.

The grapes for Guerrieri-Rizzardi's Amarone classic come from the vineyards in Negrar, most of them from the upper Pojega, from vines over 35 years old. The grapes are 100% dried in small crates in the historic facilities in Pojega.

The Guerrieri-Rizzardi winery is unquestionably the most prestigious producer in the excellent and beautiful Veneto region. The house is also among the most respected in all of Italy. The Guerrieri-Rizzardi family has been known and associated with winemaking for more than two centuries, and today the house is one of the most significant landowners in the Veneto region. By exclusively using their own vineyards, the old family firm can ensure that cultivation is carried out according to organic principles while also having the opportunity to experiment. A special and natural procedure at Rizzardi is the use of the byproduct grass. When the lawns at the various properties are mowed, the grass is either stored for future use as humus or plowed into the soil, where its chemical composition serves as a natural fertilizer and nutrient for the vines. The flavor from the grass is then slowly imparted to the wine as a scent of fresh herbs. This meticulous approach to vineyard care is reflected in all stages of the production process. Acquiring optimally located vineyards, investing in the right technical equipment, and maintaining the existing facilities, along with the aforementioned efforts towards purely organic wine production, are Guerrieri-Rizzardi's trademarks.

Soave is actually a bittersweet story in Italy. When it is good, it can be truly excellent with a lovely complex aroma of pears, apples, flowers, and almonds. When it is bad, which is unfortunately often the case, it is a thin watery wine that at best can quench your thirst on a hot summer day. So how does a consumer ensure quality? Firstly, one should always buy wine from the Classico zone, and secondly, one should always choose one of the better producers in the area. Guerrieri-Rizzardi's Soave meets both criteria. The house has some of the best vineyards in the Classico zone (Costeggiola and Casale) and also a long tradition of producing some of the region's best wines.
