Tasting notes: beautiful and deep pomegranate red color in the glass with a corresponding aroma of plums and black cherries with hints of raspberries. Soft and full on the palate with a long and aromatic finish.

Marseghina is the result of a meeting between two families, united by their passion for wine since the beginning of the 20th century. A passion that has been passed down from generation to generation, culminating in the joint project of Luciano Sancassani and Riccardo Degani. The state-of-the-art winery was inaugurated in 2015.

The Valpantena terroir stretches east of Verona and consists of a north-south oriented valley. Geologically, the area resembles the famous Valpolicella, as the valley is also part of the same wine district: Valpantena is actually part of the Valpolicella wine region.

The vineyards cover 50 hectares with terraces, respecting the environment and the surrounding landscape. Fifteen hectares embrace the natural "amphitheater" in Sezano, which also surrounds the winery and offices. Thanks to impressive terracing work, the vineyards have ideal exposure for the grapevines.

The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo an "appassimento" process, where they are dried in small crates for 3-4 months, concentrating the sugar content and altering the flavor nuances of the grapes. The thick and robust grape must ferments for 15-20 days before being transferred to steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. The finished wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12-18 months. When properly stored, the wine can mature over 8-12 years into a wonderful Amarone.
