Tasting notes: A soft, full-bodied, and fruity red wine from Veneto in northern Italy, featuring the classic Italian combination of ripe berries, spices, and a round, pleasant structure. Aromas of ripe cherries, dark forest berries, and a hint of warm spices. On the palate, you’ll find juicy cherries and blackberries with nuances of plum, chocolate, vanilla, and a subtle peppery note. This Ripasso is full-bodied and round with soft tannins, a pleasant freshness, and a long, spicy finish.

Guerrieri Rizzardi owns a large portion of the very best and most sought-after vineyards in Soave, Valpolicella, and Bardolino. And since 1998, when Giuseppe Rizzardi became winemaker and viticulturist, the wines from this 200-year-old family business have undergone an almost revolutionary improvement in quality.

Giuseppe Guerrieri Rizzardi’s philosophy combines authenticity with modern winemaking techniques. The wines must continue to reflect the character of the local grapes, and the focus will not shift toward high-alcohol wines that prioritize fruit over character. All grapes are harvested—a practice unique to Veneto—exclusively from the estate’s own vineyards, allowing for personal oversight of every step in the process. The estate strives for organic viticulture and uses cut grass as fertilizer.

In addition to a general streamlining of the entire wine production process, Giuseppe has also recently introduced handcrafted wines that truly capture the essence of each individual vineyard and, in the finest way possible, illustrate the region, the people behind it, and the history and experiences of generations.
