Frederiksdal Rancio

Rancio is Frederiksdal's signature wine. The cherry wine is left outside in glass balloons for a minimum of two years. Regardless of the weather (frost, rain, sun, and wind), the wine stands under the open sky, absorbing the flavors of the Lolland nature before further maturing in French cognac barrels inside the Winery for a few more years.
'Rancio' means 'rancid' in Spanish and alludes to the production method—a method that has been used in Madeira, Porto, Banyuls, and Maury for centuries.
The taste is intense, with a wide range of flavor notes such as figs, plums, nuts, coffee, and, of course, cherries
